Getting Our First Copyright
As of right now, we have been plugging away at developing ideas, illustrating our first book, getting this (blog/site hybrid) up and running, and writing books. While 5 books are in the rough draft stage, we have yet to copyright any of them. *gasp* I know, what have we been thinking? Well, to be honest, we were nailing down titles. Now that we know what we're going to call the series and many of the books, we can start copyright these babies and rolling them out.
Our primary goal, at the time is to get a book out to you guys (in eBook format). This first book, while being our "first" book, won't necessarily be the first book in the set once we produce the full set. A little confusing, right?
Also, once we get the copyrights in place, we can start revealing book titles and sharing some of the art. I'm not sure about you guys, but I can't wait to start putting Empower Me art all over this place!
So, here's our "First eBook Checklist"
- which we plan to do at the beginning of the new year
- Finish illustrations
- Consult with experts to formulate Parent's Guide
- which we can do while illustrations are being worked on
- Finalize format and pages
- Publish in eBook formats
- AND DONE!
